The Young Artists Awards have traditionally been held in August/September each year and are open to artists between the ages of 16 and 25 who live or attend school within the wider Mt Eden area.

Culminating in an exhibition of work and judged by well known artists, the awards comprise of generous cash and other grants to further the winners’ art careers.

The aim of the Young Artists Awards is to provide a platform for young artists to exhibit their work, to place it in a professional gallery environment and to encourage adventurous experimentation and creativity. Eden Arts has been supporting young artists in this way for more than 30 years.

UNFORTUNATELY WE WERE UNABLE TO GO AHEAD WITH THE 2020 EVENT BECAUSE OF COVID-19. WE SINCERELY APOLOGISE FOR ANY DISAPPOINTMENT CAUSED.

WE HAVE BEEN TAKING THE OPPORTUNITY TO REVIEW THE EVENT AND WILL TAKE A BREAK IN 2021 AS WE WORK ON AN EXCITING NEW FORMAT BASED ON FEEDBACK RECEIVED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND PLEASE WATCH THIS SPACE!

The Siddell Memorial Award is a discretionary award presented to a recipient who has been specially selected by the Eden Arts Board. It pays tribute to Sir Peter and Lady Sylvia Siddell who were iconic Mt Eden artists and early supporters of the Eden Arts Trust.
