Each year, in conjunction with Artists in Eden, well known artists discuss their work in a series of evening talks. These are held locally and have proved to be immensely popular. The series attracts those wanting to learn more about their favourite artists, students with notepads to the ready and those simply wishing to familiarise themselves a little more with New Zealand contemporary art. Eden Artspeak has been running for over 20 years.
The theme for Eden Artspeak this year is Artists Talking About Artists.
The dates and times are 20 February 10.30am, 6 March 7pm, 13 March 7pm.
This year we hit the road in Week 1 as we visit the beautiful Auckland Botanic Gardens. In Weeks 2 and 3 we follow our traditional format of hosting lecture-style talks at the University of Auckland Epsom Campus lecture theatres under the expert guidance of Sue Gardiner.
Week 1 Richard Mathieson + Jim Wheeler + Samantha Lissette
Week 2 Judy Darragh + Imogen Taylor + Julia Waite
Week 3 Jessica Pearless + Jonathan Organ
These talks build up to our flagship event, Artists in Eden Day on Saturday 17 March.
(Please note there is no Artspeak talk on Tuesday 27 February.)
