History

The Young Artists Awards are held in August/September each year and are open to artists between the ages of 16 and 25 who live or attend school within the wider Mt Eden area.

Culminating in an exhibition of work and judged by well known artists/curators, the awards comprise of generous cash grants to further the winners' careers.

Awards

The aim of the Young Artists Awards is to provide a platform for young artists to exhibit their work, to place it in a professional gallery environment and to encourage adventurous experimentation and creativity. Eden Arts endeavours to encourage and support young artists in the wider Mt Eden community.

YOUNG ARTISTS AWARDS 2012

The judge for Young Artists Awards 2012 was Dick Frizzell .

This year we moved to a new central Mt Eden venue - the Mt Eden Village Centre - and introduced a new award in honour of the late Sir Peter and Lady Sylvia Siddell, who were both Mt Eden residents and loyal supporters of the Eden Arts Trust. We are delighted that the inaugural Peter and Sylvia Siddell Memorial Award was presented by daughters Emily and Avril Siddell.
